Dr. Derek Kirkham is a licensed practitioner of East Asian medicine (EAMP) in the state of Washington. He has a particular focus in treating acute and chronic pain, headaches, respiratory issues, and giving supportive care to cancer patients. Derek received his Doctoral degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with a focus on integrative cancer care and advanced pain management from Bastyr University. His Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine is from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. Dr. Kirkham is certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine by the NCCAOM and is a Diplomate in Oriental medicine.
In practice Dr. Kirkham uses a blend of acupuncture, traditional herbal remedies and supplements, dietary adjustment and health education to help his patients live healthier, more active lives. Along with his private practice, Dr. Kirkham is also an active board member of the Washington East Asian Medicine Association. He firmly believes that East Asian medicine can work hand in hand with Western methods and cures.
